Trend Watch: Hair

Trend Watch
Hair
The hair trend was very definite, and solely inspired by Stardoll user Lusciious.x (owner of the magazine, Monamour.). Today, everyone followed her lead, from the attitude-filled Sudanese.Beauty (who also copied Monamour.'s dress) to the gorgeous Mixie*pixie, everyone wore this braided hairstyle. Here I've showcased just a few, but there were several more on the day.
I wonder how Lusciious.x feels about this, because she's always said she despises copiers. We'll have to wait and see...

AwardsCeremony: Elegance and Innocence

AwardsCeremony
Elegance and Innocence
I'm loving this gown by House of Dereon, last seen on R & B star Beyonce Knowles, and actually created by Beyonce's mother, Tina. It compliments her figure, tough to do in a dress, and she pairs it with gorgeous Voile gloves, diamond earrings and a knotted string of pearls, classic, elegant and chic. Love it! The divine pattern brings a touch of intricacy to the dress, whilst the colour is innocence itself. Loving this look, congratulations, AwardsCeremony!

AWARDS FASHION

For the next week (wow, long time, eh?) I'll be focusing only on the Awards fashion, so feel free to make any beauty blunders in that time and I won't report you. Go ahead, but when the week is over? Your style is fair game...

Style_Magazine: The Attack of the Dyed Ostrich

Style_Magazine
The Attack of the Dyed Ostrich
When I first saw this tragedy of an ensemble, I had to laugh out loud. It seriously did look like a dyed ostrich had attacked her. Now, I know that sounds random, but not as random as her outfit. Like, hello? I thought monstrosities like this went out when they invented cotton mix, but no, Style_Magazine is keen for a revival. Now, I was just looking around when I thought I'd stop at her page because, despite the previous post I wrote about her (Style_Magazine: Am I dreaming?), I think she has a generally good style. Not so, apparently. So, I saw this ensemble, cracked up, and now I'm writing about it. Basically I think it's the ostrich monstrosity that ruins this outfit, plus the fact that she's wearing that hideous turtle-neck that she is always wearing (you'd think she had no other clothes). Another thing that makes this outfit a disaster is Style_Magazine's signature layering trick. Now, I know that layering looks good in some cases, but on Style_Magazine it just never seems to work. So, what I'd do, is peel off the ostrich and stick it where it should be, around your waist, then I'd take away that turtleneck (and burn it) and last, but not least, I'd get rid of those deformed shoes. But, seriously, Style_Magazine: 3 strikes and you're out, and you've already been on my bad list twice.

Sudanese.Beauty: A Morbid Disaster

Sudanese.Beauty
A Morbid Disaster
This depressed ensemble reminds me of a bad day at the Morgue, or even just the funeral parlour. Like, for a self-proclaimed fashion addict you're doing a really good job of embarrassing yourself. This outfit? Yuck! It's too... dull and the coat definitely does not go. Can't you see that Sudanese.Beauty? I mean, taking a look at her closet makes me a little teary eyed, because the clothes in there are so gorgeous! So, with all that choice, you think she'd be able to compile something at least wearable, but no. She compiles this fashion disaster. Poor, poor Sudanese.Beauty. Now, how to fix this? Add a little colour! Now, I know that sounds hard given it's a mono-chromatic colour scheme, but, hey, a dash of white will liven up this outfit of mourning, as you can see in my version (below). Plus, loose the coat. It may look good in real life, but the Stardoll version of this DKNY classic isn't too pretty, so don't wear it. Instead, opt for a shearling coat, like the one I've paired it with. Plus, add a scarf for some texture and, voila, you've got yourself an outfit worthy of my good list! Unfortunately, I compiled it, and your outfit is the sorry excuse on top.

Lusciious.x: Modern Class

Lusciious.x
Modern Class
Can a girl get any classier than this beautiful ensemble? Lusciious.x's favourite piece, the HotBuys sequin tank, comes out again, with a twist. This time she pairs it with a Soho style waistcoat, gorgeous DKNY sequinned bag and a DKNY red detail hat, which carries on her exotic oriental theme. Paired with skinny jeans and white-hot boots, this look is modern, yet classy, and a must for all fashionistas! Ooh, and I'm loving the little diamond earrings and that gorgeous Heidi Klum necklace she's wearing, too! The only thing I think she needs is a long, draper necklace to give it a true Soho feel, but for classy modern, this look is just fine!

Runway.Fashion: Star Awards Exclusive

Runway.Fashion
Star Awards Exclusive
Well, guess what I managed to pry from the secretive Runway.Fashion? An exclusive on what she'll be wearing to the Star Awards, that's what! Now, of course she's too Elite to give me the full details, but I did manage, after a lot of coaxing and examples, to get a brief description of the look she's going for. Read it below:

Ok. I guess i can do that.

I want my look to be glamorous, i want to make a big mark at the red carpet event. I have picked out a perfect outfit with amazing accessories and the outfit is put together like no one else will have so i think it will be a pleasant surprise for everyone. I am very excited to see what everyone else is wearing but i think my outfit will definitely be a stand-out.

And, don't worry, I'll be getting many more exclusives very shortly and, remember, this is you site for all the fashion for Gala events, so check back daily!

Style_Magazine: Am I dreaming?

Style_Magazine
Am I dreaming?
She has been said to be a style influence, likened to Twiggy: so why is she on my list of fashion mistakes? Alright, I know she likes to dress masculinely, but even a masculine dresser can still look stylish! It's too plain, she needs some sparkle to liven it up, and those boots are disgusting! So, instead of her (shiver) version that contrasts ugly with ugly, I've used a vest, miniskirt and some shapelier ankle boots to pull together a look suitable for a spread on Vogue, not a spread on the latest Target Sale catalogue. The moral of this story? Shapeless pants don't mix with shapeless jackets, unless you actually want to look like a sack. Those boots? I don't want to talk about it. The top combination? There are no words to describe such a state of national emergency, and her eyes? Well, they I do agree with, at least her makeup is attractive!

Kahlen08Heiress: Pout it, baby!

Kahlen08Heiress
Pout it, baby!
Kahlen08Heiress has stopped pretending she's an heiress (finally!) and is now moving on with her, and we are grateful! Whilst she was an "heiress" her style was atrocious (don't you just love that word?) but now that she's herself, it's gorgeous! I love the casual, bohemia-beach style that she's rocking, but the Anna Sui shorts, heels and DKNY bag ensure this outfit can be seen in New York city shopping, too! I am absolutely in love with the beret, and she wisely keeps to a flash of red, instead of making it too mixy matchy by adding a red bag or shoes. What I do think she should consider is a necklace, because the shirt is far too plain. Oh, and that pout? Now, usually I'd just say "Pout it, baby!", but now I have to say "Are you sure there are no other sets of lips in your MeDoll selection?" because, quite frankly, there is a difference between an I'm- a- celebrity- and- I- know- it and my- plastic- surgeon- overdosed- on- the- collagen. Her lips are obviously the latter.

Model-Selena: Obey my Rules

Model-Selena
Obey my rules.
I visited her page, because on the Best Friend list of another fashionista (who was also having a bad day, as her ensemble was to bad to even be put on here!) she was described as a "Style Icon". Why? I'll never know, because when she wears an outfit like this, it's all over for any fashion credit you may have. It doesn't go Model-Selena. There is a rule that I follow, and I believe every other fashionista should, that you should never wear lighter coloured shoes over dark toned stockings. IT doesn't ground an outfit, and makes it appear ill-put together. In fact, I detest that DKNY jacket so much (it clashes with so much) and the two of them (the skirt and the top) were such a disaster together that I was tempted to quit this position, although it does mean I can write about what I love, fashion. The down side of this job? I have to take the exact same ensemble and, with a few tweaks, make it wearable. Nightmare! I think it turned out okay, though, although I'm not convinced about those boots. Note how the light coloured tights lengthen the legs, and balance out the colour-strong outfit?

Lusciious.x: Sultry!

Lusciious.x
Sultry!
She herself calls herself a "divine dresser", and with this cute, sexy and sultry ensemble: I have to agree. My only qualm? This outfit needs the Moni Moni red bag! Unfortunately, Lusciious.x doesn't own that item, so she did what she could, and she did a good job! I love the big scarf look that she wears, it's so utterly celebrity- escaping- the- paparazzi, and the sequin top is so in right now! Her skinny jeans look ultra-cool and classy with the boots, and the diamond earrings are the perfect touch for a semi-casual outfit. Perfect for those almost-summer days, and, layered with a jacket, it's perfect for winter, too

Runway.Fashion: Uh-oh.

Runway.Fashion
Uh-oh.
I never thought I'd see the day when this self-proclaimed fashionista was worthy enough to go on my list... of fashion mistakes. Quite frankly, a small tear escaped, because when a legend like this gets it wrong? It's time for a new legend. Why exactly did she get this wrong? It clashes. Mainly it's the skirt (as you can see, there is little difference between mine and her's) which definitely does not go (I don't care if Ashley Tisdale wore it). It is so... ugly. So frilled, ruched and in such a nasty shade of yellowy beige, which completely clashes with the coat. Also, the necklace over the outfit? Definite no-no. But, whilst she has that Tiffanys necklace on, she has little else, and the trend for this season does not include minimalism, and that outfit cries out for just a small necklace. Runway.Fashion, would you deny this ensemble it's plea for help? So, you get an uh-oh, because this is just disgraceful. And the shoes? I don't care who made them, or how much you paid for them: they don't go. Can't you see? So, in my version I've added some gorgeous necklaces to coordinate with her gold Tiffanys charm, Yves Saint Laurent shoes for class, style and coordination, and some ultra-short black shorts to emphasise the slim legs, and leave to the imagination what is going on underneath the coat...

Maril.Monroe: Too much, too little

Maril.Monroe
Too much, too little...
Usually on my list of fashionistas, this girl has fallen from my good graces with this monster of an outfit, and I don't just mean the Gucci-inspired shoulder pads (her version: top picture). It is... too plain, yet too much at the same time. The texture of the ankle boots clash with the soft colouring of the jacket and ultra-high waisted shorts, and whilst Anna Sui is the ultimate designer in most cases, it definitely needs a belt: that kind of item must not be worn on it's own. Not enough embellishment, but too many designers (I never thought I'd say that). The truth is, you need just one designer piece, or, at most, two, because too many can create an unappealing look. Instead, mix pieces with staples, to create a casual, yet classy look (my version: bottom picture).
